Report on the CIPnet Launch Event

The CIPnet Launch Event took place online on December 11, 2020. The Event was virtually hosted by Southwest University in Chongqing, P.R. China.

The Launch Event inaugurated the CIP Network – a learning platform to foster modernisation, harmonisation and strategic planning of IP management practices, and regional integration in Higher Education of China. During the Launch Event, the project partners presented the Network and its goals, the outputs of the CIPnet project – in particular Report on the Needs Analysis and Good Practices Guide, as well as training activities, including online learning platform that is available online free of charge.

The Launch Event was enriched by the online IP conference titled Managing IP at Universities. From IP Awareness Building to Commercialization of Research Results, which consisted of three panel sessions:

- IP Awareness Building at Universities

- IP Management at Medical Sector

- Specifics of the commercialization of research results

Conference presentations were delivered by the EU and Chinese speakers, both from partner universities and other HEIs. Each panel session was followed by Q&A, which provided an opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences between European and Chinese speakers and participants. The online Launch Event was attended by approximately 80 participants, both from the EU and China.

The next CIPnet event will be the Final IP Conference to take place in June 2021. Please follow our website for updates!
